Welcome to Photorious!

In 2004, on my way to Nepal, I laid my hands on a digital camera for the first time and discovered a pastime that quickly became a passion. Since then, I have been constantly searching for opportunities to combine photography with every element of my life...including travel, friendships, work, and family.

As a former engineer, I've always enjoyed my creativity with a bit of structure. Photography allows me to indulge my appetite for technical gadgetry while *trying* to produce something that I (and hopefully some others) love to look at. To me, a perfect image is as interesting on the thousandth view as it was on the first. Early on, I found inspiration in any image that sparked the question: “How’d they do that?!” More recently (and much more personally), I committed to taking my photography beyond technique in daily exploration of images as an emotionally sustaining force. And I enthusiastically vouch for the power of making consistent shooting a lifestyle choice.

I am a native of Baltimore, MD, now residing in the San Francisco Bay Area. I spend my days in the marketing department of a biotech startup and devote practically all other time to photography (and packing for flights).

Sébastien

Hello, Sébastien! Sébastien and I finally met while he was celebrating his 13th week. I helped him and his entourage, mommy Heather and daddy Chris, ring in the milestone with a few portraits. Sébastien (his friends call him Seabass) is already just as cool as his parents and, as you can tell, beautiful. The eyes have it! Thanks Heather, Chris, and EPGB for letting me spend some time with the newest member of the family.

Alex’s First Birthday

Alex and her guests had a great time celebrating her first year. Big brother Ben showed off his new tricycle (which also belonged to mom when she was his age!), and the cupcakes were a HUGE hit with the birthday girl. Thanks for letting me be a part of your big day, Alex!

Rainy Day Laughs

I should have known when I was greeted at the door by two little boys who immediately introduced themselves (with their full names)…and then grabbed my hand to lead me on a tour of their home…that Sunday morning was going to be great. We played Memory, built a home inside the home with couch cushions, went deer-watching, dressed up for Halloween, and danced in a deluge (ok, they danced while I took pictures). Even the pouring rain was just another play thing for these two beautiful kids. Very special thanks to Jon and Dayna for inviting me into their home to capture some images of their boys.

Bridget & Nicholas

Three-month-old Bridget recently traveled from San Francisco to New York for an extended visit with family (accompanied by mom and dad, of course). It was the first time Bridget met her big cousin, Nicholas, and a great opportunity for some family pictures. Nicholas had just started walking one week before and absolutely loves the camera…and not just posing for it. Perfect weather and a beautiful beach provided a gorgeous setting. Sarah and Eric, thanks for letting me be a part of your day.

Leila Louise at 10 Months

I was lucky enough to meet and photograph this BEAUTIFUL little girl over the weekend! Leila Louise is clearly adorable and one of the most patient 10-month olds I’ve ever met. Thanks to Lolomi and Dennis for inviting me down to San Jose to capture these images and for being so cool during the shoot. What made this shoot even cooler is that Lolomi is a longtime friend. It’s a real treat to see her building a wonderful family of her own. See you soon, Leila!
